A record number of trees, around 40, are expected at Christ Church (off New Church Road, Wellington) for their annual Christmas Tree Festival starting on Saturday 6th December.
As usual the trees are being ‘decorated/created’ by local organisations and by several individuals. Last year one tree had knitted decorations, another was made of Suffolk Puff cushions, some were made with paper, many had ‘homemade’ decorations.
The Brownies of 1st Wellington are already busy creating decorations for their tree. This year we are planning a special tree to which every group will be asked to contribute.
The Church will be open from 10am – 2pm on Saturday 6th December to showcase the trees, have a cuppa, lunch and for our Christmas Bazaar.
We are delighted to note that TADLOP, a local musical group who recently successfully performed “Anything Goes”, are to return to sing some seasonal songs around midday – seen by some visitors last year to be ‘the start of Christmas’.
Christ Church will also be open Tuesday 9th & 16th December from 11am – 1pm giving another opportunity to see the trees. For more information about the Festival or about how to have your Christmas tree included in the display please contact Dill Buchanan firstname.lastname@example.org or visit Christ Church website www.oneparish.org
