Local Running Clubs will be competing in a new Relay Challenge this October to celebrate Telford’s 50th Anniversary. Runners have to complete the new Telford T50 50 Mile Trail Relay Challenge through the Borough of Telford in the fastest possible time. Competitors will run stages of the Trail in relays with each stage being up to 5 miles long. Teams of ten are expected to enter, although keen runners may do one or more stages.
Meadowdale Nurseries in Telford have announced today, that they will be supporting the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival again this year. The Festival, which is held on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July at The Museum of Iron in Coalbrookdale, is an annual Brass Music Event including a gala evening concert that aims to raise money for local charity, Severn Hospice.

A poignant, free exhibition of 37 life-sized silhouettes of women has been installed on The Green at Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, one of the 10 Ironbridge Gorge Museums in Shropshire, marking the centenary of women’s right to vote and the continued inequality that existed for a further 10 years.
Everyone in Britain was affected by the Great War and huge numbers of the population were keen to find ways to help the war effort. For some this meant raising money for the Soldiers’ Comfort Funds or knitting socks.
Meadowdale Nurseries in Telford have announced today that they will be welcoming a very special guest to their garden centre throughout the festive period. Father Christmas will be visiting every weekend from the 25th November until the 23rd December and will be seeing children from 12pm to 4pm. There will be a small charge of £5 per child, which includes a present and there is no need to pre-book.
Thousands of people flocked to the Telford Centre to watch a spectacular light switch-on fun day, marking the start of the festive season.
The action packed programme of enchanting events started at 11am, leading up to the Christmas lights switch from Signal 107 DJ Dicky Dodd and Santa Claus at 5pm.
